BFG A/T or Nitto Terra Grapler
Like the title says. Im getting new tires next week, 265/75r16. Should I get BFG A/T or Nitto Terra Graplers and why? I have the nittos right now and loved them, but ive heard great things about BFG A/T so im not sure which one to get. Dont account price into my decision, my parents are getting me my tires so price doesnt matter. I do 90% on road, 10% off road, so dont tell me to get mud terrain
I think the terra's look sick way harder than the bfg's i kinda wish i got the nitto's but Bfg's are hands down the best tires I've ever had and i know my comment helps nobody ha!:sly:
aww come on Gary... must you even ask this question
well i know your take on it sean. i think the dark side (BFG) is finally gonna win
I like the way my BFGs look compared to the Nittos, I dont know how they compare.
I like the way Nitto's tread looks, but those lightning bolt things on the side wall are hideous. If you're gonna be 90% on road there are better tires out there.
Nittos, i never had a problem with mine but they wore fast for me as you may have noticed..
Nittos.. cuz BFG are too common. As the old saying goes..."they're tampons... every b***h has them."
Whats the price difference?

no
every b***h has em :D thats one reason i ran the nittos, that and they seemed like they worked better |
What is the traction compound rating on the BFGs and Terra Graplers? I was also looking at the terra grapplers. The traction rating on my tires I have now is "A" , is there something grippier?
Nittos Ftw!!!!
The only way your going to get a real opinion is to find someone that has run both tires. Of course someone would vote for the tires they have on their truck.
i have had 3 pairs of bfg's, one size of which was 285s. The D load rating will make them alittle stiff but they will not wear at all, haha. I have a pair in my garage with useable tread and they have 90k on them, its pretty amazing. I love the terra grapplers and i hear they hook up really well on dirt and pavment, but tend to wear alittle quicker. IMO, both are the top of their game, its just a matter of what you get a better deal on.
Yeah, my dad has Terra Grapplers on his truck and I have BFGs, the BFGs will last a little longer but the ride the same and are both pretty quiet tires. If there is a big price difference I would go with whatever is cheaper, if they are the same go with whatever the BFGs.
I don't know anything about the Nitto's, but the BFG's are the best tire I have ever owned. It is the only tire I have bought more than one set of. They are great on road, in rain, sand, on the trail and do rather well in the mud for A/T's.
If I had to choose between the two and could not pick my current Bridgestone Dueller AT REVOs, then I would choose Terra Graplers, I know BFGs are ok, but everyone and their brother run them. I just hate the way they look and would rather get something a little different.
well i can get BFGs installed for $800, but i do love my nittos. they did wear fast, i got 30k out of them, but im not easy on them. i was under the impression the BFGs were way better, but it seems like they are pretty even. i have to decide by thursday so ill keep you all posted on what i decide

Everyone runs them cause they're good tires
I've got just under 60k on my factory installed BFG ATs.. I love the treadwear, handling, just about everything about the tires. I will almost certainly spend the $$ to get direct replacements when they (finally) wear out. About the only thing I would consider changing is going for a slight increase in clearance w/ 33x10.5R15's instead of the stock 31's, while I am at it. They are fantastic in the snow. The AT is available in a very wide range of sizes. Nearly everyone who carries BFG stocks the AT in several sizes; finding a set is trivial. |
What about the new Bridgestone Dueler APT? I like how super smooth my Dueler ATs are on the highway and they have plenty of bite when on dirt roads. The new APT is supposed to be pretty good.

im really not worried about other tires. for me its between the BFG A/T and terra grapplers
