Bigger Tires on 2003 FX4 Stock Wheels

My tires are getting to the point where I will need to be replacing them soon. I was thinking about possibly getting some bigger ones or wondering if bigger ones would make it look any better.

I don't want to buy new tires AND wheels / rims so I was wondering if anyone put bigger tires on the stock wheels.

My truck:

My only comment is that large sized, off-road treaded tires typically tend to be a little bit cheaper for 15" wheels than 16" wheels.

You can fit up to about a 33x11.5" tire (metric equivalent... I think maybe 285/75/16 is right?)

I thought people were having trouble w/ anything over 10.5" wide, especially in 33" diameter. I know lots of people run 33x10.5R15 w/o problems.. but I've never heard of 33x11.5"..

you can run 285/75/16 pr 265/75/16 without much trouble. but i think the 265s look the best.

Ive got 285/75r16's on mine...the look pretty rad since they bulge out a little at the sides it makes it look like its a full floatation style tire!

stock size is 245/75/16 which is a 30.8 265/75/16 is a 31.8 and 286/75/16 is a 32.8 that is the general size, it varies some between tire brands.

i dont have any side by side pics that i can think of. i dont have flares so it makes a difference.
