What style ultras are those.....

I am not sure if you can get a 15” Rim to fit the truck, if you can do it… why because I found that most tires that we as truck owners look at and want to ride, are rated in the “E” and “D” Load Range. That mean the tires are “LT” tire (light Truck) but the Load Range puts them on F250 and up.
I have 16” wheels and as most of us think our stuff looks great with the KM2 and a Load Range “E”, even with lower pressure than stock they ride hard. If I had it to do again I think I would go with a 15” Rim and Tire.
Just me but it is IMHO the right thing to do is 15’s, IF a 15” Rim will work on the front end of the Ranger with Disc Brakes ?

luck,

So grev what your saying is stick with a 15?

01RangerEdge 09-14-2010 07:38 AM

15" would be cheaper for tires

bigandrw 09-14-2010 07:52 AM

Ya it deffinately would...but I don't really want the steelies you know? Idk of ant 15x8s that would look good with my truck

Scrambler82 09-14-2010 08:01 AM

First and for most the truck has to make you happy so stick with what you like… that said.
If I were to do it again I would run 15” wheels if I could; again why, because 15” tires come in lower Load Range and a softer sidewall which INHO will result in a softer ride, at least somewhat.
The weight of the Ranger is so light that the tires need to be fit to the truck, not the truck to the tires as I did.
good luck on the choice.

Thanks grev....personally I don't know how a ranger rides with 16s but it rides so smooth right now on my stocker 15s

01RangerEdge 09-14-2010 08:18 AM

My 16's ride awesome

bigandrw 09-14-2010 08:46 AM

I just searched for the Ranger bolt pattern at 4wheelparts.com. They were about the fourth search result that came up.

I am not saying the 15 vs 16 what I am saying is usually the tire that most of the 4x4 truck guys run are load rated too high for the Ranger, that is what makes for a harder ride.

Go 16" but watch the Load Range of the tires you use, that is all over and out !

bigandrw 09-14-2010 05:50 PM

oh ok gotcha lol

darangerdanger 09-14-2010 06:08 PM

yeah 6 ply is really the highest i'd go
