Currently have 2003 ranger xl with crappy steel wheels and 235/75/15s tires. Time is comeing close for new tires and was wanting to upgrade my rims as well.Im looking for a set of 16 "stock rims from a 2003 and newer ranger.
my question is 1) whats the biggest set of tires i could fit on these 16" oe rims with stock suspension 2)do i need to worry about offsets if i put on these 16" rims off another ranger or is the off set the same? 3)how bad will the bigger tires/rims throw off my speedometer?
Also may be looking into a leveling /lift kit in near future only 3-5 inches so thinking the 16s with maybe 235+/85/16s look good on that lift?

 

Some guys run a 31" tire with no problems so whatever the metric equivalant of that is

The 16" Ranger wheels will bolt right up, no problem.

Bigger tires will throw your speedo off a little bit, with my 32s its off only a few up to about 60 where its off 4 than 70 where its off 5, etc.

235/85s will be really skinny, if you like that look go for it but I like a wider tire personally.

 

I would go with 265/75/16 also. I have them on my truck with no issues.

 

it is an XL, I thought they didn't have T-bars, only coils...

TO OP:
what size of motor do you have? 2.5, 3.0, 4.0?
What is your gearing?
If I were you, I would find some cheap 15" OE rims, or a set of cheap black steelies. You have a bigger tire selection, and it will be a whole lot cheaper.

yes truck is 2wd looking for at least 235+ if could fit with out issues been looking up other threads seems 255/75/16 is popular wonder i fit it in 85s

 

also how would those 16s with 255/75/16 look with a 3 to 5 inch level/lift?
