classic "will it fit" thread?

Hey guys, im lookin to get new wheels/tires after I get my 3" body lift on and crank my t-bars a little bit, as for the wheels im looking to get the Cragar 352 Series Black Street Lock "D" Window in the 15x8
Attachment 150528
and for the tires i want to get BFGoodrich All-Terrains but I was wondering if 35x12.5R15 will fit or is that gonna be too big? If not those then im just gonna go with 33x12.5R15, none the less lemme know what you guys think

Fx4wannabe01 06-20-2009 05:06 PM

I dont advise 35x12.50 on a styleside bed(regular bed). I ran it for a while with maxed out Tbars, no flares, and no valence. Rubbed on full left turn on the inner fender. Wouldve ripped the flares and valence off because of the 15x10 w/ 4" backspace wheels. Was almost perfect size for the street. And shoot....I'm now double lifted and STILL throw fender flares and rub the valence with 35's.

Just go with 33x12.50. No need for gear change too with 33's.

Will fit but might do some rubbing. Search there are a couple members that are running just a bl and 35s

RangerDanger09 06-20-2009 05:17 PM

oh the 35's need a gear change?

IM running 35"s 2" t-bar crank and an 01 bumper and valance and only rub when backing up
and im running a 3.0 with 4.10s and its not to bad off the line

Smakes 06-20-2009 05:19 PM

well you dont NEED a gear change, but it helps lo

RangerDanger09 06-20-2009 05:26 PM

ok yea i've got an '01, would the 15x10 be better for 35's than 15x8?

If you've got flares, stay the hell away from 15x10 w/ 35x12.50...

I'd run a 8 OR a 10 with 33x12.50. Depends on how you want the truck to look. Take this pic for example...you want the tall skinny look, or the tall and wide look?

Attachment 150526

red truck is running 8" and 12.50....dark blue truck(mine) is running 10" and 12.50. Both wheels have a 4" backspace I believe(i know mine are)

RangerDanger09 06-20-2009 05:34 PM

im lookin for the tall wide look and i just checked my tags and turns out i already have the 4.10 gears, that made me happy

I think you can do it. im planning on doing a 35" tire.

3" body lift, 3" taller leaf pack, and i got about 2 1/4" out of my keys, sitting on 265/75-16 or a 31.65/10.43-16 currently, with tons of room!

RangerDanger09 06-20-2009 06:02 PM

yea right now im on 265/75R16's and i got a decent amount of room

Fx4wannabe01 06-20-2009 06:12 PM

Maybe I just like having downtravel...

Pff minor details.

Well I guess the real question is, do you plan on wheeling your truck at all? If you do, IMO stay away from 35's.

x2. I care about rubbing not because of the body, that phase was done long ago. I care about the tires lol. They are not cheap to drop a G note every time I take a chunk out of one.

EricRanger 06-20-2009 06:35 PM

^ you can trim the body for tires, it all depends on what you plan to use your tuck for.

Actually you do, running taller tires on a stock geared rear end not only decreases gas mileage, but wears down your transmission.

brianjwilson 06-20-2009 09:24 PM

I still can't believe that people are running 35's and stock gearing with torsion bars maxed.
Talk about a miserable truck to drive, on road or off.
Sure it "works" but it's underpowered, getting horrible mileage, putting lots of stress on everything. The ride is going to be horrible with no down travel...
All just to say you have 35's instead of 33's?
I would rather have 31's on stock suspension than cram 35's with maxed out torsion bars and no gearing.
I'm not trying to bash anyone either, I'm just hoping you get the idea before ruining the usability of your truck.

uptravel?

btw IMO, the bigger the better, but be prepared for them. That includes gears...

Fx4wannabe01 06-20-2009 09:53 PM

I mean...I like having both uptravel AND downtravel...not JUST uptravel.

zabeard 06-20-2009 09:55 PM

ah ok,

downtravel/uptravel

50/50 for the street
75/25 for the rocks
25/75 for the sand

yeah, idk why i typed that but i did. LOL

EricRanger 06-20-2009 10:02 PM

ok then im rockin about 20/80, i mostly hit up trails that are rutted out so the taller the better.

cchsbuzz19 06-20-2009 11:05 PM

I'm running 33's with a 3" bodylift and you can definitely fit 35's but I wouldn't recommend it.
