No problem with mine. And if they do it's only on the very inside plastic engine guard, which can be trimmed with no hesitation....

Mine rubs with 265/75R16 I think my t-bars and rear springs are saggin a bit.
the front from the winch mainly.. my dads new 2005 is taller in the back and
same height in the front(i cranked the tbars though)
even though my tires are a bit bigger(1.5" or so)

Its only when i reverse and turn ie backing into a parking spot..
I didnt want 285's on stock rims a bit wide for my taste and you might
get bad wear if your tire pressure isnt set pretty good (with the chalk test or whatever)

this is not scientific data but from what ive read, 285's will fit if you have the 4.0L. if you have a 3.0 you are best off sticking with 265's.

your right, but i dont know anyone willing to spend between 500-1000 on tires mounting just for them not to fit.

It also depends on how aggressive your tire tread is.
My Trxus LT265/75R16's rubbed on my 01 Edge, but they were really meaty with bulging sidewall blocks...
285/75's will "fit", but the sidewall style and how much you articulate your truck are considerations...

Your Tires Will Fit! I have a torsion bar crank and the only time my tires scrubbed was when you turn real deep. The inside of the tires scrubbed on some suspension bar. I have 285/75/16 Maxxis Bighorn Mudders and they costed me $600 mounted and balanced. Now I have 1-1/4" Aluminum wheel spacers and now my tires don't scrub at all since I trimmed my front bumper a little.
