curious about tires

so i'm going to go with the KM2's for sure, 33's, but not sure about 10.5 or 12.5, i am going to buy an extra set of rims either way, i also will be putting a 3" bl on before i get these tires

my question is, which width is going to do me better for off roading? i live in an area that has dark black top soil, with a lot of clay underneath, makes for dirty mud, the climate is interesting, it is hot and dry, but under the trees, it stays wet for ever...

i will be keeping my bfg a/t's till they are worn out, i am either going to keep the KM2's on for work and play, and only use my a/t's for road trips, or only use the KM2's for offroading, but that sounds like a lot of changing tires...

I'd go with a 12.5" wide tire.

If you get 10.50's I might kill you. Its my opinion that if you have a 3in BL and are going with a 33in tire you have to get 12.50's. The 10.50's look like **** and you will have to many more options if you choose a 12.50.

The wider tire will look better and probabaly perform better.

ya, i was thinking that the 10.5 looks kinda like a tractor tire... it's a little sad that i can't put the 12.5's on my alcoas, they are so sexy, and being mine are dsg, they go with my level II so well!

Those look good. I am not a big fan of the plain ones.

I used to be obsessed with them but as time went by and I picked up my rims I stopped liking them as much. The only thing I really like about them is that they make the price of tires go down. But the price people want for a set it's just easier to pay a little more for tires.

how does the rim make the tires cheaper?

there is 3 styles i've seen, the 2003ish ones, mine, and the brushed ones like mine... i looked at a few with the brushed finish, and turned them down for reasons, one of which was purely because they weren't the dsg alcoas

You can put 12.5's on a 7" rim James. You know that guy with the 08 SL DSG from like Toronto or something. Has a cap, 10" wide black Soft 8 replica's, yellow fogs. Can't remember his name for the life of me lol But he had his 33x12.5's on his stock rims. I'll try to find a pic of it

Another vote for 12.5's. 10.5's remind me of pizza cutters.

Go for the 12.5s. BFGs size their tires a little small anyways, and typically narrower so you'll be fine on 7" wheels. My 31" KM2s look like 30x9.5s. LR

ok, so looking online, i'm considering the m/t baja's, BFG km2's or the firestone destination m/t

reasons for each, bfg km2's look sick, and everyone on here likes them... m/t's look even better than the bfg's, and the firestones have a better performance rating, on tirerack.com albiet not that much better (8.3/10 vs 8.5/10)

what do you guys think?

on another note, i might have mudders at my dad's place about 12 hours away... they came off my bronco... they might even have rims, but i'm not sure... i don't think so... not sure if they are 31 or 33's though
