duratracs

So my Bfg ats are almost at an end and before winter im gunna need to get a new set. originally i was looking at the bfg km2s because alot of guys on here have them, but i do quite a bit of highway and usually have to deal with snow roads driving to work before the plows. So i was looking at the goodyear mtr's to compare them to the km2s and they sugested the duratrac. I took a look at them and they are really luggy, with alot of siping, and the snow traction is rated 10, so they seem good for me. They also have a good offroad rating, but not really sure how long they would last. Has anyone run them or heard anything about them, or any advice on a better tire. These were gunna run me $200 canadian, plus 20 install and ballance
Any opinions will be great
thanks

Everyone I've see that has them swear by them, havnt heard ANYTHING bad about them. And everyone said they are badass in the snow. Really considering them as my next tire if I dint get BFGs again

kenfx4 08-20-2010 12:39 PM

sweet, i wish i could get them in 32's tho, but with the lugs on these things, they might fill up alot better then the 31's i have now. whatcha think, does an inch either way really make the truck look better or really give me that much of an extra edge?

dixie_boysles 08-20-2010 12:42 PM

i'd want them in 32s

Redneckstone 08-20-2010 12:45 PM

i would get 32's

kenfx4 08-20-2010 12:47 PM

well in the 32'a i cant get the duratracs, i could get the wrangler mtrs or the bfg km2 and there gunna cost about 50 more per tire

dixie_boysles 08-20-2010 12:53 PM

how come?

kenfx4 08-20-2010 12:55 PM

all they had listed for the duratrac were 31x10.5 or 33x12.5, ill look some other places and see if i can find them in a 32

Redneckstone 08-20-2010 01:07 PM

ya i just checked no **** there not making them in 32's yet.

kenfx4 08-20-2010 01:12 PM

thats a shame, I was hoping to get a 32, but Im thinking i might stick with the 31s in this case just for the 50 less a tire, but im still not sure

Redneckstone 08-20-2010 01:23 PM

body lift and 33's

kenfx4 08-20-2010 01:25 PM

haha temping, but would a 12.5 do alright on my alcoas?

Lazler 08-20-2010 02:27 PM

Call Hills tire here in brantford area. They'll have em cheap and no tax ;)

Ranger_Guy15 08-20-2010 04:28 PM

Yea thats my dilemna too, these would be my first choice if they came in 32's.

2008xl 08-20-2010 06:20 PM

i love my duratrac's, i sure dont have anything to complain about

Redrider11 08-20-2010 07:08 PM

if you get them in metric sizes you can get pretty close to 32's but i have a set of 33 x 11.50 R16's and i love them they are great in mud which means that they should be great in snow too.

kenfx4 08-20-2010 07:50 PM

ya i think ill call hill and see what there worth there, and i think ill stay with the 31s with the duratracs and hopefully i dont regret it after haha, i looked at going for the metric, but with the sizes they had, there was only a 235 75 15 or something like that, and id rather on swap my rims, i love my alcoas, so it kinda kills my options. maybe when i call hill ill ask them for the prices on the km2 and the mtr at the same time, if i can get the km2s for around the same price then ill get them instead. its so hard to pick haha

morris 08-20-2010 07:50 PM

i think i've seen them in metric close to a 32". i was looking at these and am pretty sure the metric 32" is there.

yup. here you go. it's even form the canadian site. 8th one down. not big enough? 10th down.

kenfx4 08-20-2010 07:56 PM

the 235 75 15 only works out to like a 28 tho

morris 08-20-2010 08:00 PM

there is a 265/75R16 measuring 31.7 and a 285/75R16 that measures 32.8. i thought you had 18"s sorry. i just caught that.

kenfx4 08-20-2010 08:01 PM

ya but i dont want to go 16, i like my alcoas haha

morris 08-20-2010 08:04 PM

i dunno then.

kenfx4 08-20-2010 08:07 PM

ya, thanks for your help tho, i appricate it, i just dont know if i should go 31 in these, or 32 in the km2s, maybe i could get the km2 siped out a bit for some better snow traction

99offroadrngr 08-20-2010 08:47 PM

id just groove the km2s if you want better traction. if you go 31 you may regret not going 32s so if it was me, id just get the km2s and then bust out the groover

FordTough2007 08-20-2010 09:10 PM

im getting my 265/75-16 duratracs mounted tomorrow. should be pretty nice. i say go with the duratracs
