was looking for new tires and i like the look of these tire and not alot of people have it( like to be a little different . did not know if any one knew any thing or heard any thing about these tires

sucks in the mud, good in the sand. no one buys them because they suck at balancing and they dont lsat very long.

crazyasnedge had them on his truck before he flipped it.

 

they have a soft compound and wear easily as said before...no one realy has them around here because there isnt that much sand in alabama lol.

 

whats a tire that is simular to them in tread and style

well interco has always had balancing problems which is not a big deal if its strictly off road but when your goin down the highway getting multiple concussions from the shaking lol. Ive always been fond of the Interco Thornbird and the TSL/SX tires. The Thornbird has great tread wear while offering a smooth ride for an off road tire. I know a few guys around here that have them on some Yotas and love them. They also look tite as hell. The SX is a lil more shaky but great in the mud.

 

OOOO i almost forgot if your looking for something different look up the Cooper tire mud tire cant remember the name but my friend has a 2001 4x4 and we have tried them out over an over and they never fail. They look different as well. Thye have a kind of Y looking tread on them.

 

cooper sst or stt or something like that. they are nice tires.

 

yea i think they are the SST. Alabama power uses them on their work trucks. They are relatively inexpensive and great all around.

buddy has the intercos on his jeep, not bad in sand but they are loud on the highway and havent lasted long at all, he hates them on the street, but they have proven themselves out in the dunes out here

 

those tires wear out fast and apparently suck in mud, maybe think about a mickey thompson baja mtz radial, i have been hearing good thing about them lately, someone posted about mud grapplers, lately all i have heard about them is how loud they are and how they fill up with mud and don't clear out

 

i love the look of the nittos. It would seem like they would clear out well due to the space between the tread. Thats what i hear about the BFG A/Ts they fill up and never leave until on the road. Never been a big fan of them myself.

 

if you want something similar look into the nitto dune grapplers. they just came out a little while ago

 

I like those STS tires, i think they are sweet.

Just sucks to hear they dont last long.

 

Cooper S/T = All terrain
New Cooper STT = Mud terrain with siping, 3 ply
Older Cooper Radial STT = Unsiped mud terrain

I have these: Mickey Thompson MTZ. I've posted a bit on them here. They've been great at everything so far. I can't say enough good about this tire for a mud tire. Except for being slightly noisier than an AT, they have both on and offroad grip that is more than adequate including in rain. I'm not sure they excel at anything -- but they sure do well in most things.

Buy American if you possibly can. Interco, Cooper (which includes ProComp, Mickey Thompson, and Dick Cepek tires), and BFG in particular are American owned and made.

 

n3elz, i was unpleasantly surprised when i got my BFG all terrains and saw that on the sidewall it says made in japan or china, i forget which but it didn't say USA

 

yeah i started looking at the mickey thompson baja claws and i really like the tread design and the side wall apperance. i was looknig for a tire that had both, i have had hte bfg's and i dont like how there is not much side was look to it at all, yes they worked good but i was just looking for a few different tires that might work , and has any one had a good/ bad time with the claws, thanks again

 

if you're looking at Mickey Thompson's go with the MTZ's! i absolutely love mine and i'll put them against mud terrain, short of a bogger...and i got mine cheaper than you can get the cooper STT's....

 

I don't know if you're looking for a m/t but these are really similiar to the trxus you were looking at.
