Help with tires

The other day i went to Costco to look at tires, and it was a little unsettling. The guy i was talking to said that the size 235/75/15 wouldn't fit on a 1997 ford ranger 2wd, when fountain tire said they would. I don't know to believe this guy cause he said all 97 rangers had only 14' stock rims, and he thought my tire size of 235/60/15 were wrong, anyways he said only 215/70/15 would fit, which i didn't believe him.

We just had a blizzard yesterday, and man i need some new tires, can someone please tell me if 235/75/15's would fit on my ranger, or was the costco guy right, would only a 215/70/15 fit?

Look on the Drivers side door jam (i think thats what its called)(around the latch area) There should be a label that has info on it......and it should have the factory tire size on it. Mine says 225/75/15.

a 215/70/15 and a 235/60/15 are going to be real similar in diameter, only the width is different.

dude.. they will sooo fit.. costco doesnt like to install non-stock sizes for some reason. they probably dont wanna take any chances. but pretty much anywhere else will install them without a hitch. i promise they will fit from experience.

stock on my 97 2wd is 225/70/14..... i just put my winter tires on and they are 235/75/15, they went on with no issues at all, and fill out the wheel wells quite nicely. like mx98 said, check a local shop rather than a chain store. they should have no problems putting them on, and actually might be a little cheaper.
