how to install center caps on 1994 with 14" wheels

I am NOT a car person, but I bought a set of repro center caps for my son's 1994 Ranger.
It has 14" aluminum wheels.

The center caps seem to be the correct size, and they align just fine, but the clips that go over the lug nuts are bigger than the nuts and they don't snap on.

I was wondering if he needs different lug nuts, because right now he has a mishmash of different looking ones.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may want to post this in the "Wheels and Tires" section. This is the "How-To" section, which is for people to post information, not pose questions. You'll probably get more responses.

go to your local parts store and they should be able to tell you what ones you need.

these are the lug nuts you should have to make the center caps snap on. if you have em and just alin the cap up and give it a good smack and it should snap on
