Don't forget when you compute your gas mileage that your odometer is off from where it was -- both it and your speedometer are reading about 10% lower than they used to.

Tires look good -- should have gotten mud tires though...

Yea John we had a discussion on that today during the install. If I drive 55 miles of a known route on the stockers I show 52 on the 33s.

Sounds good. Most 33's are about 32.5" anyway, so that would affect it also. Good if you've figured it out!

I sometimes think that the "myth" of losing a lot of gas mileage going to bigger tires is from people miscalculating and forgetting that. There appears to be a lot of worry about that out there. Typically, though, it looks like you only lose a few percent in most cases. It's not quite the magnitude of problem that many seem to think.

You ARE going to lose SOME, it's just not so dramatic as to be dismaying.

I agree with ya on that, I have dropped to around 16-18 on the highway where I use to be up around 19-21. The drop is mileage has also taken into account the different mileage from tires.

he does most city drving there is no piont for him to have mud tires. thats like myself. if you remeber John I had the Cooper STT and was on dirt and crap all the time then when they started wearing out. i realized my driving habits changed alot and was 95% city and there was no huge need for mudders

I know. I don't NEED them either most of the time -- but I just had my first "mud tire" experience a week or two ago and the "high" has not worn off!

ya that takes about a year really i know been there done that. its a good feeling till your hidroplane doing 40 mph and lose steering and braking from it and rear end a girl just cause your mudders couldnt handle the rain. then it wears off REALLY fast.

I still have the Cooper S/T's on the front, so not so bad as that, lol.
