I'm so glad I don't have a truck anymore that eats tires, because that is the one thing that I went through the most. lol

XZL are way to heavy and stiff. These Nittos are too stiff for me. I like the side wall to flex a bunch.

Performance out weighs looks every time.

Will your Calipers get in the way if you went to a 16 rim? There are alot more options for 16's, although 17 inch rims seem to be getting more and more popular.

I say got big or go home. You might as well get 42's and worry about it later.

I dont know too many with 42s or 40s for that matter.

my 5.4L DOHC will be beyond the 'unique'

ive heard they could but I really like the 17s with all the room they leave. When you get stuff that is really close like that the rims get all torn up on the inside.

We have had some issues with aftermarket rims on quads. Rocks get stuck inbetween the caliper and the rim, then crack the rims. Happened on mine the first weekend out. When I looked at them after I took them out, there were all sorts of gouges and scratches on the inside of the rims.

Are a set of beadlocks in the plan as well?

I had a similar issue with my 15s and superlift. had a chunk of ice get caught in there and it ripped the anti rattle clips out from the pads then they scared the inside of the wheel pretty bad.

Any other ideas for tires? Open for suggestions.

These probably wont go on until after the 5.4L.

Looking for used or new. So if you spot a deal post it up!
what about BFG KM2s? 40x14.50R17? 42x14.50R20? they are radial construction though, if that really matters.

what do you use your truck for?

aw hell, just go with Boggers!

thats what i figured, people from all over love the iroks, mud, rock, dirt trails.. thats what i figured.. I'll stick with a good ol' TSL or LTB once its not a DD.

tires for 17s are getting pretty popular, especially with rock racing.

42s and a V8 are too much for a D44, I dont care if it has alloys and CTMs your putting an assload of stress on harder to fix items like the R&P and carrier.. 42s are D60 if not rockwell territory depending on your right foot/motor haha

I dont either, but I dont wheel like you, I dont plan on it either. I see no point in going out and destroying the truck. Although i do like to have fun.
