PLEASE READ AND REPLY-My Tire Dilemma
Most of my driving is in town or freeway. But I do live where the snow flies, and I do occassionally go off roading but nothing to severe. I have the RT/S that came stock on right now and I HATE them. The two tires I am leaning towards are these two. Please let me know what you guys/gals think.
Michelin LTX AT2

Or the usual favorite of most THE BFG AT:

Please give me some sound advice. I get tires this week/end

bfg if you want to get what you pay for. michelin if you just want to throw away money. my father in law has those ltx at2's and ehy suck. he got his 4x4 stuck i had to pull him out with my jeep. i drove around him in 2wd backed up to the front of his truck and got him out. those michelins don't self clean at all.

For 1 I like to be different. So I say look at some MickeyThompson tires. They make an MTX that I hear is really good and the ATZ is really good as well.
Also cooper makes a good tire. the STT.
I had some Bridgestone Dueller AT revos that were pretty good too.
I just dont like BFG that well, I think there are better options out there. I just listed some.
Personally I will be getting those Cooper STT tires next. I drive 20k miles a year if not more and my MTRs are holding up pretty well.

heres a whole bunch of 31x10.5 tires to choose from for way cheaper than discount tire...
http://discounttires.com/list.php?si...e&go=Get+Tires
this is where my dad ordered my tires from and the guy he spoke to is really cool he said and is putting my tires in his office so i can pick them up when i pass by the shop, instead of dealing with shipping them.... and its FREE shipping now. and they have a tire protection plan also

Tire opinion
I have tried a few different tires over the years on various trucks. Those Michelins, in my opinion, are a waste. The BFG ATs are a popular tire for a reason, they do a great job. Of the 2 your looking at I'd definately take the BFGs.
Now my personal opinion is just go with mud tires. I was a little worried about tire wear and gas mileage but I didnt have any drastic changes. I have a set of 31" Kuhmo Road Venture MT KL71s that I love.

Lost 1-2 mpg in the city but I have over 20k miles on them already and still have at least another 6-8k left. I dont mind the road noise and they look awesome. Even more, I got them from Discount Tire for $109 each for the 31x10.50-15s, much cheaper than most. I am like you, drive mostly in town and freeway with the occasional snow/mud needs. I'm not discrediting ATs by any means, theyre great but I think MTs could be an option for you to look at.
