I just got toyo A/t LT 265/75/16 and I love em so far but if you get into mud alot i'm sure they are slicks.

After alot of reading on the subject the best tires seem to be BFG all terrain if you have the money. Slightly more affordable You have pro comp a/t, toyo a/t , bridgestone dueller revo a/t.

Took me a long time to decide on my toyo's and i think i'll get them next time around too . I can't even believe the rain traction . In the rain i used to do burn outs on the stock rts at anytime in first gear , even when already going fast and straight. This is with a camper shell and tools too. With my new toyo's i can barely break them loose at anytime, even in the rain yanking the wheel and flooring it they just barely slide . Offroad they have been excellent and i have about 100 or so miles on them in 4 low.

There are many specialty tires that are really hardcore but most of them don't come in sizes under 33.

If you deal with mud then get larger more open lug pattern with more void so they will clean themselves when you gun it . If you don't hit the mud then there is no need for such an aggresive tread other then the look.

He says there are no cons to cranking your t-bars, that true? I thought there was some risk to doing that.
On topic though, i really like the BFG A/Ts , Ive heard nothing but good about them, and they are a very nice looking tire. When It comes time for new tires, they are what Im getting next.

 

well im torn between the BFG's and the cooper STT's, those things look pretty sweet.

 

well i went and checked out the Cooper STT's yesterday. they're awesome....but a little pricy. I was quoted $151 a tire for 245-75 16's. but they look sick.

 

If you guys want a really sick tire I would go with the Toyo MT. The Cooper is basically a cheaper knock-off. I work for a Toyo dealer and these things are the best tires ive ever scene Im getting some after I lift my truck.

3 tires that I currently like:

Bridgestone Revo's- have them and love them. AWESOME on the street and have never gotten me stuck while offroading. also after a lady hit my truck i learned that the sidewall's are pretty dang strong!

BFG AT's- Cheaper then the other two and a long history. I will be getting these next time because i carry these at work and because they are cheaper then my Revo's that i love. I will write a comparison once i get them in a couple of months.

Goodyear MTR's- Not exactly a cheap tire, but seem to be doing really good offroad. I would love to try a set more then the BFG's but i don't want to spend the money on them.

 

I really like the Revo's. I was looking at those before but no one had them in stock then. They're about as expensive as the BF AT's give or take.....I dunno, I'll have to continue nibbing around and see what I can spend money on lol

 

another feature of the Toyo MT is that they wear so damn good. We have people that bought those tires and they have like 50,000 miles on them now and they still have about 50% tread. I know it sounds crazy but its true. That was 37inch tire on a Super Duty. The smallest size they make is a 265/75/16 but those come in a 10 ply you cant find other mud tires that are 10 plys.
