Thanks. |

and at which point do you figure a cop is going to know enough to inspect for a 3 peice rim? Im not sure to which pirate thread you are referring but 3 peice rims have been around forever. a lot of top of the line magnesium rims come in three peice...

Many cops know to pull you over for beadlocks wheels. And how are you going to explain to a judge how you dont deserve a ticket because a one piece rim isn't illegal. The rims that seperate though are. So there goes your arguing point. Aaron |

When I got pulled over for no doors etc he didn't say a damn thing about my wheels. |
Beadlocks are completely legal in FL, there are absolutley no laws against beadlocks in FL, nobody gives a damn here.
Thanks for the info Gil. The only reason I was asking about them was becuase I like the look of the scalloped beadlock ring. I can actually find prices for Trailready Beadlocks and Allied and Aero (summit racing sells them) and Champion. I might go with Trailreadys or Champions. So those ICE rims are actually beadlocks... are they single or dual beadlocks? Because sort of resemble the USA6x6 double beadlocks. |

I personally like the stazworks double beadlocks.
|
even some of the bbs rims are 3 piece
|
I'm thinking Champion or Trailready. I'm not too keen about putting a peice of PVC inside my tire to lock the beads. I would rather have a regular-style beadlock on both sides of the rim.
|
Double beadlocks with the clamp-in internal ring are preferable, because with a regular bolt on ring on the BACKSIDE of the wheel, you will have to run ~18-20" wheels just to clear your brakes/hubs etc so that they will even fit on there, much less when you are turning.
|
Well, yeah, didn't think about that... I will probably just run some single beadlocks, until I start having problems with them, then I'll upgrade to double.

And they lock both sides of the tires?? That's what is confusing me, I've seen pics of them and read reveiws, but no one seems to be explaining how they work...
|
You could always mod a single beadlock to a double with the Staun Internal Beadlocks......or just any rim with those....and I dont know of a cop in the world who would take your tires apart to see if your running bead locks....so I say go for it!
|
There aren't any federal OR state laws against the staun internal beadlocks, but they cost the same as another set of wheels.
|
Beadlocks are technically "illegal" because the physical wheel itself, before production *if it is in production for becoming a beadlock wheel* will not get the DOT stamp on the back of the wheel.
BUT. There are no laws saying that a conventional beadlocking wheel is illegal. Why in the hell would internal beadlocks that just use air pressure to hold the bead against the bead-seat of the wheel and does not physically change the integrity of the wheel in any way be possible thought of as illegal? |
I dunno. I've never seen anyone running them except rock cralers with sponsorships. They are the only ones that can afford them.

TrailReady Steel Beadlocks 15x8.....$227
TrailReady Cast Aluminum 15x8.....$283 Champion C3 Outlaw 15x8.....$280.95 Champion C3 Baja 15x8.....$291.85 Well, I'll see if anyone can PS some of these on my truck... gotta get a good pic of my truck, though...it's lookin' rough right now. |
heres the centerline im talking about and its apparently 100% legal. no doubts about it...

|
