Questions about 31in tires on a 06 2wd?
hey guys
Ive been wanting to upgrade my stock tires and rims since i got my truck a few months ago. ive done quite a bit of searching but i havent found answers to all my questions so im just looking for some help.
my truck is an 06 2wd xlt with a 2.3 duratec and 5spd. i came across a set of 4 31x10.50 tires on 15 inch eagle alloy wheels on the local craigslist. my first question is, would i need to regear? im not exactly looking to regear it, but if it came down to it then i would. this is my main concern because its a 4cyl but i am planning on putting a k&n intake and some kind of exhaust on it soon, pretty much whatever i come across. i also drive over a 7% mile long grade a lot and im wondering if these tires will slow me down. if so, i can just get the rims.
and im also wondering if they will fit under my fenders or i will need lift? i would rather not go with a body lift but a suspension lift instead. this is going to be a process so i am just hoping you guys can help me out a little.
thanks a lot, all feed back appreciated,
Dean
