nice looking ride man...i am gonna lower my sport 2" in the back and prolly 1" in the front and throw 22s on it and hopefully look something as clean as yours..awesome job again

Toreador4x4 12-02-2007 11:34 AM

It looks like one of those dub edition matchbox cars, i really like the look alot. dont listen to anyone else, only you have to drive it, and sit and stare in awe at it out your front window while its parked in all its glory outside (who does that anyway, lol). i get alot of people bashing my truck bacause it has black wagon wheels on it or because its a 3.0. f*** 'em.

karrbass4life 12-02-2007 11:51 AM

Now some tubs, body drop, and one hell of a notch and it will look insane. Your rims would poke through the hood tho lol.

FORZDA 12-02-2007 01:08 PM

I like it, and btw where in Mississippi are you located?

04blackedge 12-02-2007 01:42 PM

Those things are huge man! I'm not a big fan of the rubber band tires but this is definitely something different from the norm, we don't see enough of that nowadays.

EdGe_wannabe 12-02-2007 05:07 PM

It looks REAL clean man. In all seriousness, do not listen to the punks on here, it's yours. You're the one who worked for them and you deserve them!

Anywho, I feel sorry for who ever had to put those rims on. 30 series tires are a REAL ***** to put on. Well, everything is 40 and under.

HighRollerII 12-02-2007 05:11 PM

i like it..its different its big nice and chrome what else do you want..

there needs to be a rf royal rumble..id hate the stuff that would go down..this is just crazy

yellow rhino 12-02-2007 07:09 PM

IMO looks pretty pepboys. I would recommend getting some rear discs so no one has to look at those drums.

Machine090767 12-02-2007 07:28 PM

i am not a fan of those wheels. i grew up in the '70's and 80's so i guess i'm partial to simple things. 15's or 16's. to me, "bling- bling" is some crazed made up statement by a generation with no realistic values. however, if 24's are whats rolling under your truck, and you like them, then go ahead, roll down the highway, but, don't complain when people snicker and point.

I wonder how a new C6 corvette would look with 15" wheels.....

Bling Bling? I thought that term was phased out years ago.

I propose something to you. Imagine if you will....... First, since you believe that wheels arose out of undesirable trend related to bling bling, lets pretend a group has never been exposed to our pop culture. Let's rely on what is soley pleasing to the eye. Preference without familiarity.

The question is, which vehicle would they think looks better..... The tahoe with factory 16's or the one with factory 20's or 22's? I bet most would opt for the larger rims. It ties the vehicle together better. It just plain looks better. Hell, many people who are against "bling" and the ghetto look will buy a new vehcile with larger wheels.... becuase it looks good. If you object, please explain.

....

the results would be completely subjective and 100% opinion. pointless to discuss what any of us thinks another person would find appealing. :spam:

EDIT**
FWIW, the saying "everything in moderation" also fits your hypothetical situation. IMO, a tahoe with 20's or 22's is much more in proportion than a ranger with 24's

ill use my wife as an example to this point.
i have shown her pics of my ranger with 17's and 33's alongside pics of rangers with 15's and 33's. i hafta point out the difference to her in most cases. hows that for preference w/o familiarity?
she laughed when i showed her the pics of your truck. even she felt the proportions were all off.

2by4 12-02-2007 08:34 PM

Wow that looks awsome didnt think that they would fit but wow. They are pretty wide though do they rub alot when you turn and how much can you turn?

Deadpresidents 12-02-2007 08:36 PM

They don't rub except a hair on full lock. they touch the sway bar a little.

I was talking of social science, not conversations with your wife....

You know what is soo funny???????????????

Most all of the concept cars feature bigger and bigger wheels. I wonder why?

Off target........ I was talking about the advances in vehicle looks and styling. It was brought up that 15 or 16 are all that's needed. I was stating that most everything looks better with bigger wheels.... even to an unbiased audience.

mroctober16 12-02-2007 08:44 PM

to each his own, but 400 bucks a tire!!! good god. you must have a money tree growin out back.

since you felt the need to restate exactly what you posted earlier, so will i; that is your opinion. you are foolish to believe everyone would agree with you. obviously, just in this thread alone, that has proven untrue. the conversation with my wife was brought up to reinforce my point about proportions. it had nuthin to do with your social sciences.

your truck is different, and you like it. why are you tryin so hard to make everyone else like it too?

t_schloesser 12-02-2007 09:07 PM

was going to compliment the front of the truck, at a glace i had the vision of a ford lightning (grills, white bumpers). but it seems a little off topic. all in all, i think the TRUCK looks good.

You missed the point again...... I was not trying to justify 24's for all rangers..... I didn't have to have a ranger or 24's to make the point I was trying to make.... I don't know what to say. I am sorry that I can't make you see the point or understand.

gumby 12-02-2007 09:35 PM

i wish you could follow your own debate. please try to read my whole post....

the only time i have even mentioned YOUR truck w/24's was in relation to proportions.

i know you dont want everyone runnin around with 24's on their rangers. i see the point you are tryin to make about bigger always looks better, and everyone thinks so, even the OEM concepts, yadda yadda, blah blah.
the 15's and 16's was that guys opinion, and yours is bigger is better. my point, which you cant seem to find in my posts, is that its all subjective. not everyone agrees that bigger is better. not everyone agrees with bigger wheels on concept cars; that is the designers opinion on what looks good. you cannot decide what an unbiased group of people will think is appealing.

if you cannot understand why different people all have differing opinions about wheel sizing, then i dont know what to tell ya.

Deadpresidents 12-03-2007 06:02 AM

I did not realize that YOU THOUHGHT I meant everyone

Apparently, it wasn't so obvious from my statement that included "most"

Let me further enhance you understanding on the word most..... Typically, it means the majority.... more people in favor.... Majority rules (so cliche, but true)

Next lesson: Reading Carefully :help[1]:

greygooseranger 12-03-2007 06:41 AM

I like the truck, I like the wheels, but they are too big for my taste. I think 20's fit well and look good on the ranger, but the 24's IMHO are just too big. Nice truck though....

lifted97ranger 12-03-2007 08:48 AM

i aint gonna be nice.....looks like crap.....looks like one of those DUB toys...

I am younger (23) and i don't like much of anything above a 17" wheel......call me old fashion if you will......I just like a little bit of tire with my wheel.....

ooo and by the way, don't push something you like on others so hard.....you wont get very far that way....

oh yea, upgrade those brakes.....

cowboy63645 12-03-2007 09:03 AM

holy big wheel batman!!!! nice clean look though, I kinda like it!! I would definatley replace the ol drum brakes in the rear with disk brakes but other than that good choice in wheel design. Granted anything over a 17" wheel is to big for my taste but to each his own.

Some I have seen on the strip with 15inch Welds look fine, if not better then the 19/20's they came with.

Then again, their running slicks and sub8's in the 8th mile. They are a purpose built vehicle, not a fashon statement from the inner-city.

Bling Bling? I thought that term was phased out years ago.
Plagerism from another forum..

Snip! - ->

I hafta say dis :
Phat YO! dey b dissin you shiznit! You aint be haddin nto listin to thoze foo's! u b pimpin dawg!

gang bangin dubs plus sum yall! Dem be havinn more back then a ghetto booty yo!
<-- plagerism off.

I had to copy and paste that here to show relevence to what I'm going to say. Its not a ' black thing ' or a ' white thing ' when their all walking around with their drawers hanging out of their pants which are riding on the backs of their knees. This goes along with the sun shining in their eyes while their ballcaps are put on sideways.

Its an association. Most whom see your truck will probably believe ' some little gang banger owns that '. Its sad, but its reality.

Ghetto is what ' it is '. Unintelligent and in need of being extinct.

I propose something to you. Imagine if you will....... First, since you believe that wheels arose out of undesirable trend related to bling bling, lets pretend a group has never been exposed to our pop culture.
NOBODY could be THAT lucky!

Let's rely on what is soley pleasing to the eye. Preference without familiarity.
ok..

Your bet would be wrong as its not some ' unbiased ' opinion. Mine would be wrong as well.

It ties the vehicle together better. It just plain looks better.
Again, your opinion. I think it looks like a ' cute ' little matchbox vehicle.

Hell, many people who are against "bling" and the ghetto look will buy a new vehcile with larger wheels.... becuase it looks good. If you object, please explain.
#1. Those wheels have too much reciprocating mass for what I do.
#2. They look like pizza boxes and take AWAY from the whole appearence of the vehicle.
#3. If you lower your truck, your front wheels will sit off-center of the wheel wells and look oddly in its well-lines. Theres NO CHANCE of lowering and centering those ' 24 ' inch wheels.
#4. Performance tires that WORK for a 24inch wheel? I'd rather have 17's. Wider selection, more of quality.
#5. I have an education and despise ' ghetto '.
#6. If my vehicle needed something to gain attention, it would be real performance, not a chrome sign that says ' rob me ' all over it.

For 2 grand, you could have done a GOOD JDM drop with solid stabilization, decent wheels and good rubber on them. Instead, you have a ' rolling harlem dawg '.

Its YOUR truck, YOU need to be proud of it. Thats all that matters.

Others CAN laugh at it. I'm going to paint my truck a hot-pink color. Folks will laugh, wont bother me at all.

The difference is, they will know what my tail-lights look like. Some do already ;)

D.

PS : if were ever at a meet together, your NOT parking near me. :biglaugh:

REUBER 12-03-2007 11:35 AM

i think it looks alright man, i took some heat for my 22's...in your case though i would have wanted an extended cab for the 24's....but you know what..it looks good and serves it purpose for you..
