wrong to think that with your vast education, social sciences, and superior attitude, that you could recognize my light attempt to pigeon hole you, but still move on to argue your point.
you however, chose to focus on my twist of your view, talk downwardly, and drop the debate entirely....
well, thanks for playin! have a nice night.

how much does one 24" wheel and tire weight?

00xlt4x4 12-03-2007 05:48 PM

not my cup of tea but to each his own. i think on our truck the biggest you should go is 18's, if they were on a full size truck it might look better but not on a mini truck.

HighRollerII 12-04-2007 06:31 AM

weight on one of these?

Deadpresidents 12-04-2007 07:24 AM

Rims are about 46-47 pound a piece and the tires are 39 lbs a piece.

lifted97ranger 12-04-2007 07:30 AM

holy crap.....those suckers weigh more than my 35x12.50x15's weight mounted on the 15x10's......

not only do you need to upgrade your brakes, you need to regear!

I just turned 24. I am working on that third bachelor's degree. You know the one after you already have 2, as in two. They were college of liberal arts, Biology and Psychology. Maybe with these degrees (3.5+ GPA), and my next bachelor of science in engineering, I will be on your level. I propose we talk about the uses of tar rather than beating it out of someone. I am not a violent man. I thought that ended with high school and gene diversification.

Dude, we a ll know a ranger is not the best or our dream truck.

Deadpresidents 12-04-2007 07:37 AM

Are you supposed to be an offroad guy? Most 35's weigh in at about 75lbs a piece.....

Deadpresidents 12-04-2007 07:38 AM

Diameter kills more than rotating mass.... alot more.....

its his ranger if he does not want to regear he does not have to, if he does not want new brakes he does not have to.

if its what he likes let him be...

not all terrains they are more like 40 some each.

ummmmm 47+39 (in the math that i was taught) weighs more than 75#.....it is 86# to be exact......and the BFG A/T's only weigh 42# each + the 20# each for the wheel.......nice try....

I really am not looking to argue, but this statement is not true. You could keep your stock wheel, and upgrade to a e load rated tire (stock size) and feel it, and I mean a lot. Weight has as much to do with it as diameter...

Deadpresidents 12-04-2007 08:10 AM

I guess I was living in the past on the tire weights..... Plus I was going by bad ass mud tires.

Hmmmm......

I have an idea that no one will pursue.... Do the physics on rotating mass and diameter.... don't forget to compenaste for where the wheel weight is loacated in relation to center.

Since we are not going to do that, maybe we could get some mean ass test equipment...... nah, nobody has that either.....

How about this, common sense!

I bet you will find that you can turn a 33" tire and wheel that weighs 150 pounds much easier than you could turn a 37" tire and wheel that weighs 100. what do you guys think?

maybe I need a drag race against someone with a truck with oh say 33's, 35's?

Why not a stopping constest?

Lemme see.. Available V8's, Proven Axles ( 9inch and 8.8 ), Light in weight, stiffest frame in a small truck..

Yep, just what I was looking for.

Wheel weight will be irrelivent as its part of the balance. When a mass reciprocates, forces are applied equally in all directions and the weight is constant. Gravity pulling down, and an inverse ' normal ' force upwards. Resistence of the wheel -vs- drag in equal yet opposite directions as well.

Oh.. I wouldn't say that if I were YOU. There are some on this site that have some INTERSTING facilities to say the least

Its called acceleration. I know the theory and principles behind it. Your making an assumption and leaving half of the variables OUT of the equation.

You would loose miserably in both events with your present ride. If someone was willing to loan me a set of wheels and tires, I would GLADLY take you up on your challenge ( dunno how it will fit.. ). If you want a test with the same wheels on the same truck ( Something you conviently left out ), you would have better results.

how did they mill the pattern from a 5x115 to a 5x114.3?

they just oblong the holes? or drill 5 new holes?

Id like to see pictures of this

Doesn't sound good for the rim

Im thinking they egged the holes myself

:stupid:

Deadpresidents 12-04-2007 09:58 AM

It is not egged, but if it was, it wouldn't really matter, becuase wheels center based on the seat with the nut and the rim... The hole doesn't mean **** and the hub bore doesn't mean **** if you propperly toque the lugs.

They used inserts and recut the pattern

getting back on subject...

How hard was it to mount those tires on the rim.. that low of profile i bet the mounting guy was having a fun time!
