Ranger FX4 Wheel Backspacing/Offset

I found some wheels/tires that I may buy to put on my Explorer - trying to find out what the look will be/if the FX4 wheels will fit...Wheels are from an 03 FX4 - is the offset on these 4.5inches? If I put them on the Explorer, will the tire stick out a bit? That's what I'm looking for but I"m trying to make sure...Guys on the Explorer forum don't know for sure so I figured I'd look here. Thanks

which FX4 rims? 15" or 16"

i doubt they will stick out any further than stock ex. rims since FORD uses the same rims on both vehicles in some cases.

yes ranger rims are 4.5" backspacing

I have a 2005 explorer - so IRS rear. So, Redneckstone, you're saying that they will stick out a little and look a little more aggressive than my current setup?

I'm unsure of the backspacing on the stockers but they do have a 44mm offset...

correct.. .you current IRS wheels are closer to 5" backspacing if not more i cant remember the exact #... so the wheel will stick the tire out more then your current wheels but it isnt so much that it will cause problems..

btw the new wheels better be 16" + cause the front rotors dont accept 15" wheels...

my next door neighbor put stock explorer 16's on his 05 ranger, and the wheels were sucked in close to an inch. they ended up rubbing his brake hoses until they wore through...(after this happened he fixed this problem by grabbing some wheel spacers) my point is that i think that they will stick out a little..

Yeah, the new ones (haven't purchased) are 16s with 245/75/16s. Guy says they have 70% tread left...

How wide are the 16inch FX4 wheels? Here's a link to the ones like I'm looking at. Guy I'm interested in says $300/wheels & tires - 70% tread left...From an 03
