Good Morning,

I got a question that I couldn't find the exact answer to on a search. I have some 16" x 8" custom rims that I had on my 01 ranger. I took them off before I traded the truck in. Well I loved the look of the stock Level II rims so I never put them on this truck. So for two years they have been sitting in their boxes in my shed.

I have a buddy with a 01 (small) Cherokee that is interested in them. I know that it is not a good Idea to put Jeep rims on a ranger because they would sit funny in the wheel wells, but can a Jeep use Ranger rims without any problems? He is dead set on these but I don't want to sell them if they are going to wreck something.

i've heard of someone putting cherokee rims on a ranger.. and the wheelspacers i got also fit on a rubicon.. so its probably the same lug pattern, just the backspacing you would have to watch for.

 

they will fit but make sure to check the back spacing first. they run a 5/4.5 which is the same as a lot of older ford cars as well.

 

I think the issue was Jeeps having smaller hubs than us so their wheels would not fit our trucks. But our wheels, especially aftermarket wheels, should fit a jeep without any problems. I think jeeps have more backspacing than us but I really cant remember.

 

Jeeps have 5-5.5" of backspacing...we have 4.5"
I have 4 Aluminum Jeep wheels that have 5.5" that I'm stuck with...
