My friend had an 02 3.0L 2wd on 35s with 4.56 gears, it drove really nice. Re-gearing is probably something i'll do further down the road...

2004xlmiller 12-05-2011 09:46 PM

ok. the truck above also had 4.56s with a 3.0L, he said it was a dog

PSIJOE 12-06-2011 12:36 AM

That's cuz it was a 3.0 ;-P lol but damn that truck up their looks SICK! Shit, even you should make yous look like that. ;-)

2004xlmiller 12-06-2011 10:09 AM

i will someday. ive mapped it out and i need like 4 grand.

PSIJOE 12-07-2011 01:08 AM

Really though. Oh well. It's all money...That I don't have to spend on my truck right. haha.

2004xlmiller 12-07-2011 10:11 AM

its unfair man. i have a mental disability where i just have to spend cash on my truck. lol.

PSIJOE 12-07-2011 02:43 PM

hahahah understandable.

sheen 12-08-2011 09:10 PM

Seen this truck before. Have a few pics of it on my computer at home. One of my all time favorite Rangers...even if it is 2wd.

you're going to want 4.88's with 35's

I have them on my 4.0 and it does alright. I couldn't imagine anything less.. Blew my trans before I regeared on 35's too. and i'm not the only one thats happened to.

nickskates4lyfe 12-08-2011 10:22 PM

I had 15x10 and couldn't flex the rear at all really on 33's

The front hated me too, I was on 3" spacer upfront, shackles out back and a 3" BL

But I'm sure it differs for the newer trucks.

I agree with Ty. You're going to want to regear when you get the tires or you will be spending more money down the road.

Blew your trans due to-to much strain on your trans for having 35's on it, with factory 4.10's lagging to get up and go?

That's crazy and defiantly has to suck. :-(
How much was the new tranny? Just curious.

sheen 12-09-2011 08:57 PM

the question is should i AAL the rear or not?? I kinda like it this way, I like the lean especially cause thats the look down here. I definitely need 35s though and when I get them im getting 4.56 gears for sure.

98liftedranger 12-09-2011 11:23 PM

Defiantly raise the rear. Looks good otherwise!

wyldechild 12-10-2011 03:35 AM

Looking good. Tint the windows!

free.99. Truck was still under warranty when it happened. haha

and yeah, it was a lot of stress on the trans from the tires. I even had ppl tell me it would happen if I didn't regear soon enough and sure enough.. lol

AAL for sure. or you will be hard pressed to even fit 35's in the rear.

and you should really take a look at 4.88's UNLESS you've got a 7.5 rear end, then I Don't think they'll fit... someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have the 8.8 rear. If 4.56 gears aren't any cheaper than 4.88s then I'll take your advice and get 4.88 cause I definitely do NOT want to have to replace a transmission. I already have to replace balls joints and tie rods...:sigh:

LOL, They do that around here too. The chevy boys run 33's all the way up into the rear wheelwell and a 3in lift up front, looks stupid.

Your's looks good though and will look even better on 35's. Love the semi-black hood!

theres a ton of squatted single cab silverados around here with flipped blocks in the rear and maxxed out ford keys in the front on 35s...they rub over every speed bump

Yeah tell me about it. I would hate to take one of them on a long trip somewhere riding like a tank..
