Tire Flat - Again!

Ok I have been having a problem with my left rear tire losing air. Today I walked out and saw my tire flat, limped it to the corner gas station and filled it up...again. I noticed air bubbles escaping from around the lead wheel weight so this is my problem area. On all 4 rims, the aluminum (stocker fx4 rims) seems to be reacting with the lead and has bubbled (for lack of a better term) up surrounding the weights. This seems to have lifted the smallest wheel weight up a fraction and is now pushing on the bead enough to let air out.

Now my questions, is this a reaction between dissimilar metals? Are my rims now shot? How to prevent this from getting worse?

Thanks,

Interesting. I haven't had any problems with my alcoas and the wheel weights. Also These wheels are clear coated so I'll have to say no on the dissimilar metal reaction.

Yeah I want to see this. The more I think on it the more I'm questioning my initial reaction

it just happens sometimes. just go to a tire shop and ask them to balance them with different weights ie if you have mc weights on their ask them to use tw's or al's. and make sure they're not leaking before you leave

You can also take the tire off the bead and put some grease on the beads and then inflate it again. I had to do this before with my ranger rims and seems to stop the leaks. I dont know why they sometimes do it but they do.

Here are some pictures. Its kind of hard to see what I am talking about because of the road salt & frost (3 Degrees currently) on the tires and rims.

Here is the same spot somewhat cleaned off.

Previous spot where weights were attached. Seems to be chipping off?

Let me know what you think.
