lug nut issues!!!
i bought my truck a st of the summit nomad wheels, 15x8, and i was told by members here that the original ford lug nuts would work. WRONG!! i started to thread them on by hand when test fitting the wheels and found the shoulder of the nuts started to hit the painted part of the wheel.
question is what lugnuts do i need to order to install these wheels? what thread pitch, what length and should i try and find thin wall lug nuts?
thanks a lot
truck is a 2005 xlt 4x4, 4.0L 5speed ext. cab

No problem, you'll definitely need new nuts then. Standard length (about 1.4" long) will work fine. Your best bet is to order an install kit by McGard or Gorilla or similar... then you'll get locks and chrome valve stems/caps, etc. Stay away from the cheap $1 chromies.... they look good at first but they won't even last one Ontario winter.

Can't go wrong with McGard. I've had their wheel locks on almost all my vehicles for years. No rust whatsoever after quite a few Ontario winters. I have a Gorilla set on my Mustang... they're not quite as good of quality but it doesn't see any salt/snow. Not a big deal because they're much cheaper. Just make sure you're ordering the set with a 3/4" hex unless you plan on keeping an extra tire iron in your truck instead of the stock one!
