Tires Opinion
Well I went to 4 wheel parts, and basicly left there pissed. But I was set on a few choices of tires. So maybe you guys and girls can help me out. What are your opinions on the Bfg's mud-terrains or the Goodyear MTR's
lol , bryan, sales guy? nuff said
no the funny part is they tried to tell me that i cant put 35's under my truck after i lift it. Then they tried to tell me i didnt have 31's on my truck stock.
most of the sales people in mainstream companies are by the book. so if it says one thing, thts what they push. because really, we cant do much more than the manufactor says.
but i say neither bfg or goody. toyo mt's |
Go with the general grabbers at2. Great tire and never had any issues yet with them. They are defently wearing better then any good year i have owned.
i wont chime in with my opinion on any other tires but for your questions about comparing bfg m/t to goodyear mtr's i can tell you that the mtr's will perform better offroad in a wider variety of terrain. however you can expect them to wear faster than the bfg's so basically it depends on your budget and how much and how hard you go off roading
Just my experience, I just saw mt/r's get BEACHED in some nice fl mud. Don't run the MT/R's in the swamp.
Honeslty, I would try up a super swamper tsl radial or irok. Go different...everyone has bfg's (me including). Or look at the xtreme mud terrain (pro comp) |
they don't make general grabbers a/t2 for the size he wants (i believe you said 35's??) for a 15 inch rim I THINK they only come in 31x10.50's. i have them and they are good but i want bfg's now.
I like my MT/Rs and everyone that I know that has had them has liked them too and everyone likes their bfg mud's. So I think they are both good tires and it's just what you want. But a lot of people are getting the MTZs now so you might want to look at those.
mickey thompson mtz? those look so aggressive. If i had the money id fork over the 175 (per tire) and get those.
I just go my Mickey Thompson MTZs put on my truck they ride really nice and dont make much noise on the highway either.

Go with a Maxxis Bighorn Mudder! They are very similar to the BFG's and Goodyears but they are a lot more economical and they even wear great. I have 45,000 miles on mine and they are about gone.
mud ranger how much (if you dont mind me asking) the 35's cost you?
I'm not sure how much the tires themselves were but i bought 5 tires and rims mounted and balanced for $1900
oh thats not too too bad.
36x14.5 TSL Radial...you know you want to!

I completely understand If i was in FL i would have boggers or something to that effect. I have wheeled in FL mud a few times I know what it is like. But my MTRs did great in the dunes.... How much sand is in the mud there? btw do you air down? |
^^ holy hell, who makes those?

Pretty much the sand is just like the mud, it's sugar sand, so you just sink down into it...boggers just dig down too deep unless your in 4wd w/ a lot of power, I was thinking about those 37x13 boggers again, just b/c they are badass.....and my truck IS officially paid off now... |
Im still undecided I want kind of a loud tire but I also like my bfg's.
