I've decided what to do...

Well after thinking about it for a while, I've decided to just leave my truck at the stock height for now and put some BFG All-Terrain KO's on it.

I only have 12k miles on my stock Wrangler RT/S's but they just seem like they suck pretty bad. I get no traction on the wet pavement or in the snow with them.

I just haven't decided whether or not I'm getting the 255/70/16 (stock size) or the 265/70/16 -- they're the same price...maybe five dollars seperating the two.

I guess it doesn't matter...what's 10mm afterall?

I'd be getting the 265/70/16. The 265/75/16 specs out to be (at least on BFG's site) around an inch taller. The 265/70 is a half-inch taller than the 255/70 and about .2 inches wider.

Drew, ok sounds good...I'll post pics when they're off. I take good care of all my stuff, so they're in good shape, properly rotated every 5k, etc.

Well it turns out the 265/70/16's are on back order...and I was looking to get this done sometime this week/weekend so I'm going to check again tomorrow incase Michelin didn't suddenly produce a bunch of them overnight and then I'm just going to order the 255/70/16's. I can't see 10mm's doing much at all in all honesty...and the 265/75/16's just seem like they might be a bit too big for my taste.

I'll post up tomorrow what I found out.

... you might not think so but appearance wise it is ALOT. That like when people keep their 32s when they lift their truck. Sure they dont look too bad... but they definitely look small.

i dono IMO i guess

Well, you're talking 11.5 vs. 12.5 inches in width. I'm talking about 255 millimeters vs. 265 millimeters. or 10/25.4 th of an inch.

BFG's site specs the section width on the two as follows:

255/70/16: 10.2 on a 7.5 inch rim
265/70/16: 10.6 on an 8 inch rim

height:
255: 30.2"
265: 30.7"

...
So they used a different sized rim for some reason...I don't know, I mean I had myself all talked into the 265's but like I said, I want to get this done within a week or so.

No pics yet...I worked all day yesterday when I had them put on it was already dark and I worked all day today and it's dark now lol. I think I'm going to go take some pics tomorrow.

Although they do rub a little bit when I'm in reverse and the wheels are turned all the way to the left... There's a piece of rubber that seperates the wheel well from the engine bay...and the tire just barely makes contact with that. It's not an issue and there are a few ways I could fix it like cranking the torsion bars or just removing it but I'm not too worried.

I'm starting to wish I did a body lift, wheels and 33's instead of 265's and a cap, but there's always next year.
