Ok so a 2wd will rub on 31x10.5x15s but is it because of the overall circumference of the tire? The height of the tire? Width? What causes the rubbing? Im looking to get 265/70/15s on my truck but im not sure needs to be smaller then a 31x10.5 and what can be bigger etc.

 

Usually if you are running stock tires, it'll be the edge of the valance being whacked by the tire tread or the edge of the tire... unless you have fender flares, and i'm guessing you dont...

 

I just have stock everything but I have aftermarket rims.

 

i had a 4x4 edge with 285-75-16 on stock wheels..with AAL and t-bar it rubbed on the sway bar and was close to the valance..my guess is near that same place..lower bumper or if you have the offset off..it will rub on the inside frame**swaybar**

 

Hmm might go 255/70/15 Kumho's. They are rated very well and the price is right =). it seems a 31x10.5 is a little bigger then a 265x70. Probably would have the same rubbing problems. A 255/70 however seems quite a bit smaller then a 31/10.5 but alot larger then the stock 225/70 that came on my truck.
