What is the max tire size that i could put on my 2002 xl 4x4 ranger?

I want to know what tire size i can put on my 2002 xl 4x4 ranger with no lift? Just so i can get a little more clearance for some of those deeper ruts and bigger rocks. Also i was wondering how big i could go if i put on a 3" body lift? i hate to go body lift over suspension lift but i don't have an extra $2000 laying around! Any input would be great, and if anyone has any suggestions about what body lift i might want to go with that would be great as well!
Thanks,
Jake

well you don't need $2000 for a suspension lift. actually you could get some 2.5 inch coils for around $180, you could do the t-bar thing for free, shackles, block, add-a-leaf, or coil spacers if your desperate. those are probably all under $180. body lift will run you around $250-$300

2.5" coils and/or spacers is a no go since he's 4wd and doesn't even have coils to begin with......

And yes, for a 'true suspension lift' on his truck you are indeed looking at $2,000 (+/-).
