Wheel decision on a stepside
I'm wanting to get black wheels on my green stepside. I'm definitely going to get 15x8's to mount 33's on them but the backspacing is whats getting me.
Cragar d-windows have a 4" back spacing and matte black mickey thompson classic 2's have 3.312". I want to have the wheel/tire stick out and not be tucked in and rub on the swaybar. what do you guys think? Whore out your truck if you want, pics are always good haha |
Find some spacers on craigslist ;)
|
uh... no
|
Mine are 3.75, stick out just perfect with 33/12.5 tires.
i have the Dwindow ones but they are a different brand. |
I'd go with the Mickey's just cause they look freakin' great, plus they'll stick out further.

Here is a Link to the wheels I purchased. Except I got them on sale for like $83/ea
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/Xt...n=PXA8069-5865 * 15x8, 5 on 4.5 Bolt Pattern * Backspace = 3.75 in. * Max Load = 2200lbs * Finish = Gloss Black * Hub Centric = No * Offset = -19mm Here a link to those Threads https://www.ranger-forums.com/general-ford-ranger-discussion-15/might-finally-getting-33s-bl-108677/ https://www.ranger-forums.com/general-ford-ranger-discussion-15/look-what-came-today-110450/ https://www.ranger-forums.com/general-ford-ranger-discussion-15/fresh-body-lift-111076/ Then my facebook has quite a few pictures of the truck as well |
i like the ones ben has
|
cragars are gay. You might as well buy them with foodstamps. Have some class and get mickeys or equal quality.
|
lmao. I probably will go with the matte black classic 2s even though the truck is a pos haha
|
gah, i think you'll stop *****in about the truck when you go wheel it for the first time and be like "OMG i missed this sh!t mang!!!1!!11!"
i'd also go with mickey's. |
haha idk. it will never be like my red one solely because of the mileage. i wont put as much into it (although im saying this now i'll prob do it anyways lol)
definitely not getting a front end swap haha |
Do a front end swap anyway. Then get a Projector Retrofit done

I liked the way my cragers stuck on with 33x12.5's. They were 15x10
Here is the best I have that show how they stick out. Attachment 86949 |

anything as long as you dont go with steel. They are way to heavy
|
i need to swap to alum wheels, my steelies are heavy as hell...even without the locks on
|
I got M/T's with 33x12.5 and depending on the brand of tire, the winter firestones stick out about 3/4 of an inch and the summer tires are good year wrangler silent armor and they stick out almost 1.5 inches
|
|
yeah get aluminum, my steel wheels have got to be robbing my gas mileage. on the bright side they only cost me a weeks worth of food stamps
