Does this sound right? With all due respect I need definite answers if at all possible. I don't mind looking elsewhere but if this is good advice it gives me something to look for.

 

At +40mm, the wheels in that auction have too much positive offset that will pull the tires inward and possibly make them rub on the inside when turning.

Factory Ranger wheels have +12mm offset and 7" width. Whether 7" is too narrow depends on the tire you intend to use. All stock Ranger tires are OK on 7" wheels.

Using the stock offset and tire size is the safest route. However, you can use less positive offset or even a small amount of negative offset before you run into big problems. Tire/wheel fitment has a lot of variables so there is no simple answer as to what fits.

 

Alright. I have 7.5" wheels right now so that doesn't bother me. I'm worried about offset more then anything.

 

Correct. However with that offset you could possibly use spacers to move the wheel out more. Other than that, the bolt pattern is the same but I'm not positive about that center bore fitting over the hub but it is possible if it fit any explorer.

 

Yup, I have that problem right now too. I am running some $20 NAPA spacers on the front since the bore is too small. I don't want to run spacers unless I absolutely have to.
