Icon5 Yes..another "Will these work"

Just came across with good looking Pro-Comp wheels and I'm wondering how they will compare to the stock wheels? I just got new 285/75/16's so will be sticking with the 16" version....

Pro Comp Series 7028 Cast-Blast Wheels - Xtreme Alloy Cast Wheels, Pro Comp Cast Wheels

But according to my fuzzy math, I'm thinking since these have the 4.5BS, but will be 8" wide rather than 7" wide of the stockers...they will stick out 1" further, but not in any further? Any input will help!

16x8, 5 on 4.5 Bolt Pattern

* Backspace = 4.5 in.
* Max Load = 2200lbs
* Finish = Flat Black
* Hub Centric = No
* Offset = 0mm

will stick out .5" being its 1" wider then stock but same backspacing as stock

Ok, (still) confused now...if the backspacing is the same..wouldn't that mean all the extra width is on the "street side"?

It will stick out 1" more than stock. Having the same backspacing means the inside edge of the wheel will be in the same location as stock, pushing it out 1".

If the wheel had the same offset as stock, 12 mm, then the center of the wheel would be in the same location as stock, and would be .5" closer inside, and stick out .5" more.

I vote 1" sticking out. BS is the same, so its gonna be 4.5" to the inboard side of the rim. Be it a 7" rim or a 13" rim its still only 4.5" to the inside.

Now, if you are referring to the 0 offset, thats different. Then if the stockers are 0 offset it would be .5" on each side.

Backspacing is measured from the mounting surface to the inside of the wheel in inches. 4.5" of backspacing will be 4.5" on any width wheel. So the entire inch gained will be gained on the outside of the rim since the backspacing is the same.

You are confusing offset and backspacing.

Backspacing is the distance from the mounting surface to the inside edge of the wheel. Same inner clearance.
