Littlered is getting a little bigger!!!

Im going to start putting my body lift on this weekend. I might not get it all done but my truck sits most of the time anyway. I will for sure get the bed raised up. Now i will have to start planing on new gears and 33's. I will post before pics when i get home and keep it updated as it progresses.

Sounds good! What gears do you have now? I have 4.10 gears and when I put on my 33 mt/r I didn't lose too much power. My buddies Mazda with 3.73 gears with my tires on it is a complete dog

I got the bed lifted and a few of the extensions and stuff on today. I need to pick up some hose in town to extend the fuel filler. I probably wont get to the cab until next weekend. Hopefully i can talk me boss into letting me off one night to get some of it done. On to the pics.

Well i got off work today to try and get some more of it done. I ran into some mechanical difficulties. I have to pick up some pipe to extend the gas lines. I cant get the sheet metal cover off to get the lines out of there holders. I cant get the steering shaft undone to put the extension on. so after all that i deciede to quit and maybe i'll go fishing now. If anybody has any tips for me i would greatly appreciate it!

soak the steering linkage with pb blaster and give it a little bit and retry it. gas lines just cut it were u need and mesure the inner diameter then get some stainless tubing with an outerdiameter that matches your previous mesurment. probly need a 6 inch piece. then hose clamp it on. thats pretty much what PA supplys you with in their kit

pics? also it would have been a ton easier to go through the fenderwell to get the steering linkage, you may have had to pull the existing gap guard, but not too hard. at least you got it

Sorry its been so long my summer has just been crasy and the truck was put on the back burner. I got a couple pics of the sheet metal cover i got all the screws out but 1 and i dont know if i can get to the other one. If anybody else has had problems with this i would love some advice.

This is the last bolt that i cant get to.

This is the other end of the cover.

I also cant get the bolts out of the front body mount holes. Do they just spin out? I havnt read anything about them being difficult to get out.

BUMP!!!

I got the sheet metal plate off the steering extension put on the 4 in cab bolts out. Its just about ready to be lifted. But i still need help on the front two bolts should they come out after the nut is off the top? When i try to turn them the whole thing turns and i get no where. I tryed heating the head of the bolt but that didnt work. Also im not really sure what it is im sapposed to do under where the sheet metal plate was. Any advice would be greatly apprecitated.

I had to cut mine off with a angle grinder. They were rusted straight to the bushings. Some people had luck with a pipe wrench on the bushings.

Where did you cut them at? I can try to put a pipe wrench on it i guess and see what happens.

so i used a pipe wrench and got the passenger side off after a little work and then had to get a big pair of channel locks for the drivers side and ended up breaking the head of the bolt off. so now the bolt is stuck in the bushing. Has this happened to anybody else and what do you do to salvage the bushing?

well i ended up using a 36" pipe wrench on the bushing and a 24" pipe wrench on the bolt after letting it soak in kroil and heating it and it finally came out. So no it is lifted i just have to go through and finish relocating everything tomorrow. I will post pics then.
