fuel filter tool???
ok so i have been searching this forum but have not been able to find a answer. i have a 95 ranger with the 2.3 in it and i need to so some routine matinance to it. here are my questions...
1. is there a special tool you have to use to get the fuel filter off? from what i have read the newer rangers (Like 2001 and up) do not need the tool. so if mine needs the tool then where can i find it and how much should i look at spending to buy it?
2. what kind of plugs and plug wires should i buy? my ranger more than likely has motorcraft plugs and the original wires in it. i would like to put NGK's in it, does anyone know the right plugs to get that are NGK's??

Whatever you do, do not purchase the metal all in one tool. Buy the plastic rings like rngprerunner said. The metal tool blows.

cool thanks for the help!! so autozone or o'reillys should have the tool that i need? 9 dollars i way better that 80/hour for labor at the shop. so what would be the best way to depressureize the fuel system?? just release pressure from the valve on the fuel rail?? or should i pull the fuel pump fuse and then start it and run it for a few seconds??

To the original poster... You can release the fuel pressure either way as you described or just let the truck sit for a while. The pressure will go down on it's own.
