3.0L 1.7 ROLLER ROCKER KITS
I did the how to on these 1.7 Roller Rocker kits and now they are not available.
So here's what has been done.
I took my truck back apart and went through the whole rocker assembly and found that there were variances in the Morana rocker mounts. So i have done my homework and with the help of a local engine builder/machinist i have put together and tested a bolt on 1.7 Roller Rocker kit for the Ranger 3.0L.
The 1.7 rocker arms raise your lift at valve from .416" to .442" and let the 3.0 make better torque down low and more power up high in the rev range.
These kits require no tapping of threads and are a simple bolt on.
What I want to know is there a interest out there for these kits.
I would sell direct for $280 or i will be listing on my E-bay store for $310 and i am not just talking i have several kits ready to go now.
Like i have said before i ran a kit very similar to this for about 100,000 miles with no problems.
I just think my quality control would be a lot better and my prices lower. I paid about $400 to get my kit to me from Canada
Just wanted to see what you 3.0 guys think?
Here's a few pics of one of my roller rocker arm assembly's next to a factory rocker arm.

I can tell you that the motor seemed to pull stronger through the whole rev range. But i would really like to give you guys some real numbers to go by.
So i am going to get the truck up on the dyno Friday and compare stock vs. roller 1.7's.
I will let you know how to contact me for purchase Friday after i post the numbers so you guys can base your decision on facts not theory.
I am covering all aspects of this to ensure a quality kit and no disappointments.

It's funny that after the ranger is discontinued all these indie guys start making aftermarket parts.
Good luck. I can't benefit from them but I'm all about small businesses getting off the ground.
Where is you manufacturing process? How long is turnaround from me as a purchaser buying them to getting them? Have you made others in the past?

I just see a void that needs to be filled.
No secrets here they are Proform 1.7 rockers same thing Morana used ordered in bulk from a performance warehouse with the pedestals milled to the proper specs here in Orlando and then supplied with the proper bolts made in America that are also ordered in bulk.
That is about the only way to make this worth it. There is not a whole lot of profit in each kit.
I just think it was a great idea that got terminated because of poor quality control.
I had problems on my first install from morana because of no quality control.Nothing sucks worse than spending $400 and a couple hours of time to start your truck and here every rocker arm knock because of poor machinery. And then wait another month for a resolve.
Yes i have been testing a kit on my own 3.0 for about 3 weeks. and will be running it hard on the dyno Friday.
I have kits ready to go so if you want one now PM me i will use paypal to recieve payment and you will get delivery quicker

Here is an update...
Earlier in the week i changed all the rockers back to stock and sold my test kit to a friend that was hounding me for a set.
Yesterday i got the truck up on the dyno and did a couple pulls. With UD. Pulleys,Headers bolted to stock exhaust ,CAI and my custom tune. My little 3.0 put down 151 HP. and 180 TQ at the tires on a Mustang Dyno.
My tuning software allows me to lock the tranny into 3rd gear.
And the 4.0 guys say the 3.0 is worthless. I say bring it on.
I can't wait to see what more air flow with the 1.7 rollers will result in.
Then to be my own first customer i took a brand new kit and installed it on my truck just as you would.Fired it up and she purrs like a kitten.
Here's the kicker.Being track night the dyno got pretty busy and i never got a chance to get back on.
So the results of before and after are on hold until next week when i can get back in for a couple pulls.
All testing will be done on the same Mustang Dyno calibrated for my truck.
And of course i will be posting the actual dyno read outs when done.
Just keeping you informed and here is a pic of a couple of my kits.

Here's a my 3.0L Edge screaming on the dyno today with my 1.7 roller rockers, headers, underdrive pulleys and my tune.
Remember stock rockers with above mods 151 hp. 180 tq.
No bs'in here.I wanted to know just as bad as the rest of you.
3rd Gear pulls with 4:10 rear gear.
1st pull =169 hp. 197 tq.
2nd pull with no cool down=167 hp 195 tq.
Everybody was pretty impressed with the gain. Testing was done at Horsepower Sales Orlando. Now that the rocker arm testing is done I can put the nitrous back on.
