Job is done.....I dumped it (with a turndown) right before the axle with a 40 series. Now I have a couple questions:

1. It's kind of quiet, especially if this is suppose to be the "loudest" flowmaster muffler. Is there a break in period in which it will get louder?

2. I've heard about a slight smell with a new flowmaster. I've dumped it without a muffler before and never had a smell. Is this smell coming from the muffler and does it go away in time?

Yeah its just a break-in smell, it'll go away within a couple days or so.. also it WILL get louder, i've noticed that mine gets deeper and louder after running it hard. Did you get a SI/DO or SI/SO 40 series?

Yeah it isnt as loud as a SI/DO but it should still have a good rumble to it, i had a SO 40 series before my DO one that I have now, it seemed to be more mellow than what I have now, still sounded good to me.

I'm going to give it a few weeks and if it doesn't seem to be gaining the sound I want, I'm going to rip it out and do my own thing.

Dumped mine right after the rear axle and sat for abt 2 hrs last night in it running and no problems. Sounds pretty good too to still have the rest of the exhaust stock
