Tuner

Tuner
I have the Bama xcal2 tuner, I currently have 93 performance and 93 towing...but with gas prices I was wanting to go back to 87. I was wondering if there was a stock tune I could get, that I could still change the speedo and rev limiter, idle, all that stuff???
Does anyone have it?
My program code is ACM3
Either that or I'll get a 93 gas saver program or something...I think it would be worth it???

Yea, mine has the option, but you can't change the tire size or anything like that, I want to either use a 93 fuel economy tune or a stock tune, to see if I can get better gas milage. 13.5mpg is killing me, I was getting 16mpg before...but I've been driving more city now.

Doug from BamaChips charges $50 for a new tune so no matter where you buy a new tune it shouldn't be that expensive.

I bought the tuner used from a buddy. I only bought the two tunes I thought I would use...93 performance and 93 torque. Gas prices were lower at the time. Now I want to try out a gas milage tune...can't hurt?

I need a 'tuner' but I have no idea where to go what to look for I know nothing about this, I see some names and numbers but it's all chinese to me. I have updated my tires & rims with a larger size, I plan on doing a tune-up with new plugs and wires and a cold air intake with hopefully the mass air flow sensor changed I read these threads and it makes me think about a so called tuner as I'm only getting about 10 mpg please help me out I'm desperate with this gas prices rising. thanks in advance

Go to that page and you'll see that you input all your trucks specifics. Then you select which tune you want and they'll be sent to you with the tuner. You can PM graniteguy if you have more questions, thats Wayne and he'll be glad to help you out.

Doug can make you a new tune as well, to run 87 octane but still get the transmission and performance benefits of the other tunes. You wont have as much pure power without using the higher octane, but it will still be a huge difference over the stock tune, still using 87 octane fuel.
You can use this link if you like, our site will collect all the info we need to make the tune, and I will just email it to you, you can load it up yourself!

yea...I use Freds 87 performance tune almost always....even though its only a few bucks more for 93 per tank....the shifts and performance at 87 are good enough for my dd commuting...with the underdog pulleys, cai, efan, and exhaust, I am getting pretty close 24 mpg on a regular basis...
your results may vary on right foot use.
I do gotta admit the 93 performance tune is a lot of fun to drive!

Rather gas is $2.00 or $4.00 a gallon it is almost always .20 more per gallon for premium so it's still the same markup. You were paring the exact same markup before.

I noticed for me it's cheaper or almost the same to fill up with 93 on the performance tune than 87 with stock tune (as far as MPG). I have a GPS so I did the miles through the GPS, stock I got 13 within 100 miles and performance I got 16mpg. Big difference, both I was going on the hwy going 70

I can baby a tankful of 93 and get about the same mpg......but why would I? Theres no point.
