anyone replaced the front axle shaft bearings before? i have the dana 35 SLA. there is huge amount of up and down play right where the cv shaft goes into the carrier. also a loud thum thum noise that you start hearing at 25 mph and gets louder and faster with speed. just started getting a mild vibration in the front end. all wheel bearing are new . front cv shafts were new a few months ago along with tie rods and ball joints . all the seals blew out on the front differential so im assuming its the axle shaft bearings. anything i need to no before i start into this?

 

Nothing special if you are talking about the axle bearing I had to replace. Read thread below

those would be the ones. just hoping that they havnt damaged the cv shafts and hubs i replaced last year :/

 

you have any trouble with the passengers side bearing? its alot smaller than the drivers side. replaced the drivers side no problem but broke the passengers side bearing while trying to install it. lucky for me no one has them in stock so had to order another one
