4 ltr vs 3 ltr engines and transmissions

I have a 93 to 97 3.0 ltr manual vintage splash which needs a lot of work. Possible solution is I have found same vintage XLT 4.0 ltr auto. The 4.0 ltr has about 1/2 the mileage on it but a bad transmission and auto. The body looks in better shape too. The 3.0 ltr has a lot of mileage but runs good even though it sounds like it has a sticky valve or something. A little tapping from under the hood. But the truck has not been on the road for a couple of years but it always starts.

So my question is will the 3.0 ltr manual hook up to the 4.0 ltr engine? If so, I am thinking about buying it and doing the swap.

No, the bolt pattern is different.
