4.0 litre to 3.0 litre swap
Does anyone know if the swap would be straight forward to implant a Ranger 3.0 litre engine into a Mazda B series with curretnly a 4.0 litre engine. The 4.0 litre has a blown head gasket, but I have a spare 3.0 litre engine and transmission from a Ranger. Mazda is a 94, ranger engine is 95 plus I have a full 96 splash 3.0 as a parts vehicle.
I am wondering about computer, engine mounts, drive shaft, transmission mount, etc.
One other thing, the Mazda is 4X4 but the Ranger parts and engines were from a 2WD.
Appreiciate your feed back.

hmm... I dunno.
It might be a lot more work than you'd think. What I would do is measure everything first and check the measurements on the other truck to see what you're up against. I figure the electrics would be fine and swap right in. It's the trans bell housing that really matters since a 2wd trans can't have a transfer case bolted onto it...
So if the 3.0 won't bolt onto that trans that the 4.0 is bolted to, I'd just replace the head gasket on the 4.0
