Oil sending unit location

Just joined your site and looking for info on where the sending unit for the oil pressure is located. I did some searching last night and it seemed as if it were on the front drivers side. But maybe that's for the 4.0. My sons 2000 oil gauge is working speratic. First start up not working, shut it off, start it back up and it works fine. Then the next day the same issue. Plenty of oil in the pan. No spots on the drive. Is the sending unit just a one wire? What color is the wire? The 2 sending units that I see are located by the thermostat housing. Any pics of what I'm looking for?

The 3.0L oil pressure sending switch is in the block behind the passenger side cylinder head. It is much easier to see through the PS wheel well than from above. Single wire. Color code is green/white.

Thanks, I wasn't seeing any sensor that looked like the one Auto Zone sold me. Is it hard to get to and replace?

Easiest way to see it is through the wheel well. Push the rubber splash shield out of the way.
