I need help!
So how's everyone doing on this fine night?
I'm in need of some help, and I don't know a whole lot about cars or trucks, so please bare with me =[ I have a 99 Ford Ranger, it has 80k miles on it. Just recently it's been acting really funny. It's a manual I might add. Now what happens, is when i shift and it is in neutral for a second, it sounds like the engine is about to explode! I've noticed that when i come to a complete stop the sound stops all of a sudden. I changed the air filter last week, so I don't think that can be the problem. Could a leak in a hose be causing this? Or are there any other suggestions to fixing it

I fixed the hose on the intake. It's still acting up =\ It seems like something is loose almost. Because when I hit a bump, it usually fixes the problem for a little bit haha. I've noticed that when I take my foot off the pedal as well, it'll still stay at a constant speed! That's definitely not right for a manual speed. I'm going to see if there's anything wrong with my throttle/throttle cable tomorrow morning. I'll keep you guys posted! If anyone has any idea wtf could be wrong I would love to hear it!
