93 intake

Ok so my 93 splash i got a intak off ebay. It was from a 95. It didnt fit totally. But i rigged it up. Now that i realized that is getto, i wanna change it. Should i put the stock intake tube back on then but a cone filter on it? Or should i just put the whole box back in and buy a new drop in filter for it? Ive read everyone complaining about the hot air with the cone but with the tube that runs from the inner fender to the stock air box is still there and there for if i put a cone filter on it it should still be flowing some cold air into the area of the filter. i guess im just asking which route should i go. Oh, and i just lowered it with a 4/5 so ill post some pictures up soon.

the higher air temps usually have to do with the tube being way more conductive then stock and since its right by the radiator they get warm on these trucks, if the truck is moving there should be enough air flowing that you arent sucking in "hot" air with a cone. however a stock arm with a cone filter is as ghetto as what you have. stock is best, but id run the stock box, paper drop in, and trim your ebay tube to fit since you already have it.
