With headers the peak horsepower wont be much. What they change the most is the low and midrange torque and horsepower. You don't need high RPM in a truck.

but remember you get what you pay for when it comes to parts like headers. yeah the jba are expensive, but in my mind i would rather pay for the quality than cheap out and get a set of pacesetters or something. so i'll just hold out till i can afford em.

and i'm pretty sure they are the same bolt pattern, just they moved the EGR around or you don't have it depending on the year. so as long as you get the EGR on the correct side you should be fine. unless they changed the bolt pattern for the EGR. (don't know if they did or didn't) thats about all i know

reading a forum on ranger station..op looking for gains in same area as me, granted on the sohc...recommended he keep stock size exhaust for velocity and change the headers..from sound of it the stock ohv manifold are more restrictive than the sohc ones so hopefully more dramatic gain in my case anyways

the headers i have are great never had any problems out of them cause they were cheap!! its the same size pipe as jba and gibson there just for a 99 model ranger you have to mod the flange on the cat a bit to get them to bolt up to a 00 model i don;t know what kind of hp gains i got from them but they made a difference
