I Granatelli made them, not sure if they still do. But for $300 I would just do the MAF mod and get just about the same results for a whole lot cheaper.

I believe they used to make them, but not anymore. They really aren't worth the $300.

To follow that up, just because you get a flasher doesn't mean you need a MAF sensor. Unless you plan on tuning your own vehicle and messing with the air ratios, its not needed. I had a flasher and the MAF mod on my Ranger and never had any problems.

MAF mod on the 4.0 is iffy and can require some "tuning" by sanding and shaving the edges of the sensing tube afterwards. I don't recommend the MAF mod for the technically unequipped. You need a scan tool if you have a problem to find out where you are -- in fact you can have a problem and not see it right away.

The 3.0 has never been a problem -- but the 4.0 MAF mod has been "touchy". Research it on here and you'll find some posts about the problems and what not.

So is it any "performance" MAF that would make the 4.0 run funny or just the modified ones cause I was thinking about just buyin a JET or somethin. Is it that big of a deal in mpg's or power anyway?

well D is right in the sense that if you plan on tuning with a MAF, its better to get a new one that will provide the same results every time and not have to worry about it acting funny.

and a follow up, Granatelli stopped making the Ranger MAF about three years ago, because they couldnt nail down the tuning on it.

I know this is an old old thread but i figured it would be better to add to this instead of starting a new one...
Im looking at the Jet MAF for my OHV. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and how well it works. Get more power? I am also looking at a BBK throttle body. Should go with both?
Thanks
Matt
