I've been thinking about getting an intake for my 04 4L SOHC but I want a dry flow filter. I will not buy a K&N from my previous luck with them. What are your thoughts about the intakes. Also if anybody is runnnng them any info is great.

The Volant and Airaid aren't oil free.

I did an AEM Bruteforce CAI with the dry filter and like it alot on my truck

I had no idea Airraid had to be oiled lol. Oops. It works fine for me dry. Maybe I will start shooting some oil on it after I clean it.

^I agree though, I like the look of that AEM kit with the chrome tube.

 

I'd like to buy that AEM but I cant find it for the 04

The AEM is for rangers up to 03'.

You have to do a little bit of fabrication and cutting of the airbox to get the MAF sensor to fit on. Very easy to do and i think there is actually a thread on here of somebody doing the conversion.
