2003 4.0 sohc CHanging sparkplugs at 80 000 mi

I wanted to chek my plugs soon before the cold weather comes. I never touched a newer motor before i took a look inside and saw how jammed everything is.. i was wondering if anyone took pics of how they got a wrench in there on the spark plugs myabe let me know if they removed anything to get to the plugs or even which way to get to the plugs would be easier. Hope to see some pics ill take some pics myself show ya how packed the engine compartment is. Its nuts!!

No pics from me but I used a selection of 3/8" drive extensions, a 3/8" drive u-joint and ended up going thru the passenger side wheel well for the passenger side plugs.

I found the passenger side easier than the driver side

I just changed the ones in my '03 a month or so back (58K miles). Like everyone else said, just remove the tire and the rubber part of the inner fender on the passenger side. I didnt remove the entire plastic inner fender. The drivers side you can get to from the top. I think on the passenger side I needed a couple extensions and 2 swivels. The only problem I ran into was the plug socket coming loose from swivel or extension and having to get it and the plug out and the weird angle it sits at. It's not bad though.

i dont have any swivels extentions i got a bunch of different lengths for 3/8. So u think i should goget me some swivel u joints before i get into the sparkplugs. And thanks for info! Im surprised u can get into them from the wheel well.

It would make life easier if you had a swivel or two.
