Icon5 05 5.0 swap

i have a friend that is wondering how to do a 5.0 swap. non EFI. he want to do a carb set up. how would this work as far as ignition and controls etc.

Any 5.0 swap in 04+s is not only incredibly difficult but there is not much support here for it because people don't attempt them. The electronics in the 04+s make swapping in older engines a real pain, the electronic gauges and the fuse box being on the passenger side are 2 good examples.

I know one guy whos running a 01-03 or 04-05 Edge 2WD with a carbed 5.0, he had a thread asking about improving gas mileage a month or 2 ago lol. He's the only 98+ I know of with a carbed 5.0.

I'm sure it will pass emissions exhaust wise.

As far as ignition goes could the PATS just be eliminated and run a basic ignition.
