I think everything will be perfect actually.. Transmission was all checked out and they said it looked great. The only thing im worried about is the PATS deal.... Exhaust aint no thang and the AC system will need to be recharged! That should do it as far as what i need left to do! Lots of pics to come tomorrow

Hey, luck with the start up !
All should be good to go.
I take it the tranny came back and is in ?
I want a V-8 again sssoo bad, I can feel it when I go to take off, the Hurst Shifter w/ 8-Ball in hand and then I remember I have a 3.0L, man that sucks.
Waiting to hear how you make out.

Thanks Andy..
Yup, today is the day the transmission goes in and a full on engine/tranny inspection will take place just incase i find a loose bolt or forgot to connect something up or worse forgot to fill something up with fluid, eeeek. Ill for sure make sure this engine/tranny is ready before i crank her up!!! We will see how it goes. LOTS of Pics to come tonight!!

OK this may be a dumb question so forgive me and and spare the ahole responses. Do you really need the EGR. I know mustangs run an EGR delete plate, then you would be able to run the TM headers for 96/97, and an intake spacer or aftermarket intake without worrying about extending tubes. etc. OF course you would have th eECu reflashed to not look for that sensor too i guess.

Yep yep! Compression fittings and Copper TUbing = an easy $7.50 proper way to fix the EGR - I had to extend my own an inch when I put my JBA titanium ceramic's on my 4.0 SOHC.. soo - should be about the same with your 5.0, just a slightly different spot

If I remember right - doesnt the EGR valve setup actually help gas mileage a little bit.. which is why most newer vehicles have it? Reburns any of the old crap that needs burning or some junk .. I dunno, would have to ask a pro at that area - I have not much of an idea minus it sends exhaust gasses back up to the top for whatever reason - laughs-

Youch, that steering shaft is close!
Make that thing roar man! Maybe dress it up and polish a bit in your down time.. WOuld be great to see a nice and shiny 5.0 sittin in that dirty engine bay, haha
Those headers really are Monsters by the way! At least its confirmed they fit in that thing.. honestly looks like they were made specifically for a ranger/5.0 swap!
Diggin it! Honestly wished I lived closer to check that thing out - always wanted to do a 5.0 in my truck, this is a great journal for some much needed knowledge =)

Just that BIG lock nut is hitting it when you turn it, other than that it clears BARELY.. What ill do is get rid of that BIG nyloc lock nut and go with a different type of smaller locking type nut. Shouldn't be too big of a deal for now!

Yeah.....slightly shorter bolt and a compact thin style nylock nut should work out just fine. Should get you about an 1/8" more clearance.
That bolt is there to just keep the extention on the steering shaft...doesn't need to be hella tight...so If you really needed to, I suppose you could literally cut a nut in half and weld it to the bolt and it'd still be good. Or shoot....ditch the washers, use flanged bolt, flanged thin nut, use lock tite and that could get you clearence too.
