Just bought this CB (Comments Please)

I just got a MAXON MCB-30 40 Channel off of ebay "In Good Working Condition" for $5 plus $10 Shipping. With a price like that I couldn't pass it up. If anybody out there has one or had one let me know what you think.

Plus where would you guys suggest mounting the antenna on this truck

The scanner antenna is currently mounted in the center of the roof infront of the lightbar. I want to get the lightbar mount bracket for it and that would put it in the center behind the lightbar but I just haven't felt like buying it. I works the way it is so i just dont mess with it.

EDIT: What brand and length antenna do you guys recommend. I am going to go get one this weekend and run it so it is ready. Keep in mind I probablly won't be using this that much and the truck is really only used for off-road driving.

I have one in my truck and it works great. Nothing fancy, mind you -- but the automatic noise limiter takes out the spark noise, and for my offroad work it's great.

I'm sure it's not a "enthusiast's" CB, lol -- but after 2 years I'm still happy with it for use as an offroad communicator.

my friend has the same cb, although his has the PA function. It works fine, and i think you should mount your antenna on the side of your tool box, thats where i have mine. If i can find a pic, i'll post it
