Infinity Basslink Questions
Just wondering how I would hook it up to my head unit which has no provisions for it. I know people have hooked it up to the stock head unit I just dont know what I need to accomplish this. If it matters I am running a Panasonic CQ-5800U for my head unit, but like I said it has no provisions for system expansion. Well thanks for your time in advance.

The head unit I have is less than two weeks old, so it ant coming out. I installed the head unit and the Pioneer 4 ways everyone has been raving about and I am happy with it, but still want a little more bass.

It has speaker level inputs, but I think it would be easier to use a LOC and just run the RCA's. Also I'd go with a Basslink 2, it is more powerful and has an expansion slot to add a small 4 channel amp to it for your speakers. I have a tutorial on installing one in a 4 door ranger, it's in the how to section.

Both Basslink I & II have high (Speaker) level inputs, these basslinks are made for hooking up to OEM type systems. the basslink 1&2 will turn on automatically when its senses music. I would use the high level inputs on the sub instead of a converter so that you can use this auto-on feature.
You will need to buy a small amp wiring kit and speaker wire long enough for two runs to wherever you decide to tap into your speaker lines.
I just pulled out my basslink II because its four years old and developed a rattle. it still works i just can't listen to it directly anymore. It was a great sub and is more powerful then the component 300w RMS kenwood amp and sub that I replaced it with. I seemed to have better sound from it when i mounted it in a down-fire position fyi.
